We got it! The information is finally here and we can begin sending support to our platoon. There will be a letter in the Chronicle detailing suggestions for the care packages. Please do not wait for the care packages to go out before getting involved, we will be mailing out letters and cards before then. I have already sent an email and a letter to them, and for security reasons I will take care of mailing and emailing with them. Please write letters or cards and bring them to me whenever you get the chance.

Youth Committee adopts a platoon

The youth group recently signed up to adopt a platoon stationed in the Middle East. I am waiting to receive the email address for our contact person in the platoon, along with the number of men and women serving in this platoon. Once we have more information, the youth committee will be asking the First Lutheran Family to help donating items to be included in a care package we will be sending them.

Missing out on the fun

I’m so excited that I get to go take some much needed time off and relax in Texas, but I’m seriously bummed that I’ll be missing the Country Music Marathon water station this year. It was so much fun last year and completely worth waking up at 3 in the morning.I know it may not be so thrilling to have to meet at the church at 4:30, but it takes time to get everything set up and before you know it there are runners headed your way.Last year, we had a group of Peter’s students from East Academy there helping us and their excitement at the first runners was a joy to see.
