Call Process Update

We have a call committee! On May 13, 2012 the Congregational Council elected a call committee of six persons, as required by our congregation’s Constitution, from those members of our congregation that submitted an application to serve on the call committee. An alternate was also elected to serve in the event one of the call committee members can no longer serve due to unforeseen circumstances. The call committee and alternate will be: Ben Hurt, Jerry Johnson, Ed Klonowski, Jeff Leake, Emily Reinke, Melissa Smith; alternate: Christine Trupin.

Vacation Bible School Save the Date July 15-19

Everywhere Fun Fair: Where God's World Comes Together is the theme for VBS. Time is 9:00-noon. It's open to all children ages 3–10.

113 Club to Puckett's Grocery

The 113 Club, our seniors' fellowship group, will go to Puckett's Grocery in Leiper's Fork on Thursday, May 23, at 10:00 am.

The club gathers at the church at 10:00 am, then caravans to its destination.

Southeastern Synod Assembly 2013

May 31 2013 - 12:00pm

The Southeastern Synod Assembly will be held in Chattanooga this year. The speakers will be: The Reverend Mark S. Hanson, Presiding Bishop of the ELCA; Beth Lewis, president and CEO of Augsburg Fortress; and The Reverend Harold C. Skillrud, Bishop Emeritus and first bishop of the Southeastern Synod.

First is eligible to send one man and one woman to represent our parish.

Affirm

Affirm is a Discipleship and Leadership Training event for youth in grades 6–12 as well as college freshmen or sophomores who are members of an ELCA Southeastern Synod congregation. Affirm will be held at Berry College on June 16th–June 21st. Affirm's capacity is 375 youth, and units fill up fast, so please register online today or download the registration forms. The cost is $350.

Choir Appreciation Day 2013

Join us for a music-filled service as we bid our choir farewell for the summer. Every year, the choir votes on its favorite anthems from the past year and sings the top choices in a special service.

The choir's sung everything from medieval chant to contemporary gospel this year, so it's bound to be an eclectic mix of joyful noises. Don't miss it!

Youth Camp at Lutheridge

We invite all youth who have finished 1st–12th grades to join us from June 30–July 6 at Lutheridge in Arden, North Carolina for a weeklong camp; swimming, playing games, doing crafts, making friends, and learning about God's love.

There is a $150 deposit, but the church picks up the rest of the tab.
